Mock "Wedding" #3

Too tired to write. Let me just say, "it was AWESOME"! I will write more in a few days.
Also, check out the Elizabethton Star for the story on my students that won state level. The paper came back today to do this story.

PROUD MOTHER!

Yesterday, my Darling Daughter was initiated into an honor fraternity at ETSU, KON ( I think those are the letters.)
I am so proud of this beautiful young lady!
Come May she will be half way through her higher education program. She is majoring in Interior Design.

Her design and artistic talents are a gift from above. It is so exciting as a parent to watch her develop into a mature and creative young woman. Several of her projects have been chosen by her professors to be on display for quality examples of student work.
I am proud! I was unable to attend this meeting yesterday, but my sweet student teacher was also being honored and as she was leaving my classroom I asked her to take my camera and take pictures. She did and I am one happy mother!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending this precious young lady into my life.
Thank you for her big brothers that have helped mold her.
Thank you for her father who has provided a wonderful example of a man that follows you.
Bless her as she continues in her studies, use her as an example of your love, that others may see Jesus in her.
In Jesus name,
Amen
XOXO

Wish I had been there

This young man spent Easter Sunday on his great-grandfather's farm. My Dad's.
I think it is obvious from the photo, he had a GREAT time. :0)
I wish I had been there.
My sister, his grandmother sent me this photo, via e-mail. Thank you!
He had fun hunting for Easter eggs. Some of my favorite memories are when his grandmother and I would take turns hiding Easter eggs for each other. Back then, they were hard boiled and could be easily broken. I remember the year when it must have been cold for Easter and we hid them in the house. Evidently, we forgot one, because it wasn't long before there was this terrible odor coming from the blue bedroom. It didn't take long to find that forgotten egg. :0)

I wish I had been there to see his face as he picked up those eggs and showed his mother.

I wish I had been there when he discovered those eggs were filled with treasures.

I wish I had been there when the adults were snapping pictures of this precious young man as he enjoyed the fun of the day.

I wish I had been there to color eggs with him and to tell him how much I love him!

Soon!

XOXO

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
30 -31Jesus provided far more God-revealing signs than are written down in this book. These are written down so you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life in the way he personally revealed it. John 20 The Message

State FCCLA Meeting

What a week it has been!
On Monday of this week, five students , myself and my student teacher left Elizabethton, TN for Nashville, and the annual state FCCLA meeting. We drove through sleet, snow, and whatever else could fall from the sky. As it is April, I was hoping for better driving conditions. The good news, we made it safe and sound! We had Chloe(our GPS) and she kept us on the correct tract. Her presence in the car was comforting when trying to find the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville. Her directions were flawless and we enjoyed an evening of music and good food while surrounded by music memorabilia.

Our purpose for traveling to Nashville, was to participate in the STAR events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) competition for our state FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America). Back in February we competed with students from our region and won! We went to Nashville to compete against other regional winners. The students in the above photo created our Chapter Showcase Manual. They prepared a speech and displayed our chapters projects and activities through a beautifully prepared manual.
I am so proud of them! :0) They brought home a Bronze medal.

The photo below, was snapped just when we all realized that they won in their division! Look at the cute grin on her face. This is priceless! They are now going to represent TN at the National FCCLA convention which will be this summer, also in Nashville. I am blessed! :o) I have known that I work with the best students in the world, now others will also be impressed with these young people. Their project was: Life Event Planning. They did a financial project on going to the prom. It was awesome! I wish you could see their project and hear their presentation. You would agree with me and congratulate me for having the opportunity to work with such amazing kids!

The state meeting is 2 and 1/2 days of activities. The first day is competition. The second day begins with the award ceremony. The afternoon session includes an inspirational entertainer and various business transactions. We have a short break before attending the formal banquet that evening. The banquet is always a favorite. This is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know other FCCLA members. We sat at the table with a teacher and student from Memphis. Their school is five times larger than ours. It was interesting to find out how they raised registration fees and what areas they competed in.

Opryland hotel is absolutely beautiful! After the banquet we spent time walking around the hotel and taking pictures.
We had so much fun!:o)

The young man in our group was such a trooper.
He held his own with a van load of women. :o)

If you can't tell, we had a FANTASTIC time!
As an educator my favorite part of the trip was listening to them talk about returning next year and how they are already planning new projects for competition! I think that's success!

Happy Easter!

Happy Birthday, Handsome!

Happy Birthday!
I hope your day is filled with blessings and promises.

You are a wonderful husband, father, son and pastor. You are a friend to many and an encouragement to those who know you. God chose you to be a minister of the Gospel and you have submitted to His calling with Grace and Love. How blessed are those you encounter each day.

You lead by example, which is to say, "you practice what you preach".

Thank you!

Your children are proud to call you "Dad"! You have taught them to be genuine, caring young adults. Each of our children are active in church, not because they are the "preacher's kids" but because they have a love of Jesus as demonstrated by their father.

Our journey has been an adventure. :o) Your love and affection makes my heart jump with joy when we are together and ache when we are apart. I love you!
Thank you for being a part of my life!

You are a caring and supportive son. You are their "Pride and Joy"! You show respect and honor to them each day. You have learned the art of patience from your dad and your sense of humor is from you mom. You are a beautiful blend of the two.

Happy, Happy, Birthday! I love you!

XOXO

Theresa

P.S. Thank you to those who commented on my last post. I so appreciate your comments and prayers! Dad B. is still in the hospital. We are unsure of the days ahead and ask God's direction as decisions are made by medical staff and family. Thank you for your kindness.
