Father's Day Weekend

Please lift the Burton family up in prayers this weekend.
Dad B's battle with cancer is coming to an end. The spirit of the Most Heavenly One is calling this earthly man to heaven. The angels are singing and Jesus is there with his arms open wide. Those of us that are left behind are saddened by the soon earthly disappearance but rejoice in knowing that Dad B will soon be praising God and singing "Hallelujah"!
Pray for comfort and peace for a wife of 52 years. Pray for wisdom, strength and comfort for a son. Pray for comfort and peace for grandchildren. Praise God for sending Jesus to this world to save us!
XOXO

Guess Who Came to Town?

BFF! :0)
A dear friend and her beautiful daughter came for a visit this weekend. We had a blast! It has been five years since we have been together! She and I met in college, a longgggg time ago, we were in two of the same classes. Turns out, we were in the same major and ended up having the same classes the rest of our time at Murray State University. It was fun. Upon graduation, she moved back home to Southern IL and I moved to Louisville, KY, to support my hubby through graduate school.
We have remained friends through the years. She's the one I call when I need a listening ear. Her wedding was the first my husband conducted in the ministry.

She has 2 sons and a daughter.
Her oldest son, works for the police department in Madisonville, KY while awaiting entrance to the state trooper academy. Her middle son will graduate in a few days from a Bible College in Belfast, Ireland. He has been called into the ministry and plans on living in Scotland upon graduation. Her daughter, just completed her first year of college and is good friends with a young man that lives not to far from here. He is from southern IL also, but graduated from Milligan College in Northeast TN.

We drove right by the race track and stopped to take a few photos.
Some of our time was spent in the stores! A little retail therapy as we like to call it. As shown by the evidence, a local store was having a sale and certain VB fabrics and styles were 50% off. You heard "it's too good to be true"! We had to take advantage. The next thing I knew, our purchases were gathered up, and they had their picture taken. LOL
I should be ready when school begins, I have a new computer bag, "teacher" bag, checkbook cover and key chain.

Safety First!
When she was a little girl she had the cutest "Barbie" pink helmet. When she outgrew that helmet, she pretty much stopped riding her bicycle.

Enjoy the beautiful days of summer!
XOXO
