Merry Christmas!
|
A time for change. Our family is no longer within driving distance of each other. We made the best of the situation. Using modern technology, we were all able to be in the same room, at the same time, while in different locations. It felt odd at first, but within a few minutes we were talking, acting silly, and being our typical "Burton" bunch selves! This is Lacey, she traveled from KY. She's a little shy, but very loveable. We enjoyed opening gifts, playing games, talking, laughing and mostly, just being with each other. Due to all the different schedules, we were able to celebrate Christmas over several days. No one was left out, and we were all relaxed. We aren't finished, we still have a little more celebrating, with other family members. We enjoyed a joyous Christmas Eve service at church. It set the tone for remembering the true meaning of Christmas.o For unto us a son is given, unto us a child is born! Jesus, was the perfect gift that first Christmas morn! From July 29, 2011 |

Thanksgiving Weekend!
Happy Thanksgiving!
|
I pray you had a wonderful, thankful weekend!
I spent time with very special people.
The puppies made the trip from Kentucky and seemed to enjoy their time in Tennessee.
We had good food, and an opportunity to relax around football/basketball games.
We also spent a lot of time on the phone with those that weren't able to make it home. :)
Yes, I had a bountiful Thanksgiving.
Thank
you God, for blessing me.

Fall is Here!
I didn't intend to take such a long break from this blog, but... days flew by and before I knew it, two months were gone! School is back into session, actually, almost 1/4 of the school year is almost finished. :)
|
In September we celebrate several birthdays and decorate for fall.
I had planned on doing a post of the changes in the dining room. It was painted back in February and I love it! The color is called "moonshine".
This beautiful young woman celebrated her birthday this week.
Red Velvet cake - her favorite! It tasted as good as it looked!
New cell phone was on the birthday "wish" list. Unfortunately, it is on a back order list. Hopefully, it will arrive in a few days.
There was another, "on it's way" gift. She had been looking at a monogram necklace and I found one, again, didn't arrive in time. She was good natured about it.
I personally am thrilled fall is here! I love fall, cool weather and colorful trees.
Love,

June Update
I am sad to see the last week of June. It was a June of vacation time, lazy summer days, too many visits to the dentist, father's day, and the absence of an alarm clock!
I am pleased!

I' ve spent a little time learning new photo editing tools. Don't forget to head over to picmonkey. It's a lot of fun!
I had the opportunity to add a few new teaching ideas to my lessons for the upcoming year.
I've tried a new recipe found here.

Haven't tasted them yet, and I am most definitely not a cake decorator, but I do think they are adorable. Have a great last week of June!

I've spent time today giving picmonkey a try.
I am pleased and it is currently free. Give it a try!
Very easy to use!

Bridal Luncheon in KY
We spent a beautiful weekend in KY. One of our friends is getting married in two weeks and we were invited to a bridal luncheon.
The house was beautifully decorated, and the tables were a welcoming treat.
It was obvious a lot of thought and hard work had been done in preparation for this special day.
I had a fantastic time, traveling with this young lady is one of my pleasures.
We had dessert in this beautiful setting. Kentucky at it's finest!
The bride and bridesmaid's share a photo session in front of an adorable play house.
Time sure has flown! I can remember the slumber parties as if they were yesterday!
Two weeks, not much longer.
I am blessed!
